In a glittering function Indian Printing Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturer’s Association (IPAMA) hosted a Gala Dinner to welcome participants of Printpack India 2009 and to honour winners of IPAMA Print Awards besides honouring stalwarts of Graphic Arts Industry and its own past President.


IPAMA instituted first time, since its inception, “IPAMA Print Awards” for the excellence in printing and packaging. Announcement to this effect was made at a late stage, just 12 days before the inauguration of the Printpack India 2009. IPAMA received more than 1300 entries in all six categories. Judgement of the entries was done by a very competent and expert panel of Jury – Comprising of Mr. Arun Sinha, Mr. Rajiv Dhar, Mr. Subrata Roy, Fr. Rezitom and Mr. Avinash Pasricha.


General observation of the Jury Members was that the entries submitted by the contestants were of internationals standards—and their parameters were—dot sharpness, ink density, registration, screen-ruling, and die-cutting etc.


The successful winners were informed and requested to come over to receive the awards on 19th evening at Asiad Tower, New Delhi in a glittering function. The declared winners are:

Whereas, “Lifetime Achievement Award” was bestowed on the following doyens of Graphic Arts Industry – Mr. Pranav Parikh, for his amazing entrepreneurship in the pre-press area, Mr. Gyan Singh Bhurjee for his great contribution in the manufacturing of   corrugated machines, Mr. H.V. Sheth for his ingenious work in the manufacturing of finishing machines for post-press, and Mr. Santokh Singh Oberoi for his invaluable work in the box stitching machines. These pillars of graphic arts industries of India were honoured with a shawl and an inscribed silver plaque each.


 


IPAMA honoured it’s Past Presidents for their invaluable work in the formulation of IPAMA as an apex organization of more than 80% of the graphic arts machinery manufacturers of India. The honoured Past Presidents are: Mr. G.C. Aneja, Mr. P.R. Srinivas, Mr. P.B. Gupta, and Mr. S.M. Shah and they were gifted with an inscribed silver plaque each.
