As a registered apex body under the Societies Registration Act, IPAMA is dedicated to disseminating information on the state of the technology, market perspectives and various developments taking place around the world, relevant to the Indian printing, packaging, converting and allied machinery manufacturing industries through its quarterly journal IPAMA Bulletin, besides holding international standard exhibitions "Printpack India" in association with India Trade Promotion Organization, (ITPO) once in two years.

IPAMA represents 80 percent of the graphic arts industry. With 226 members on its roster, it is recognised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

As an active member of the Committee for Indian standards for Printing Industry, under the aegis of Bureau of Indian Standards, IPAMA played a very vital role in formulating standards for Indian products related to printing and packaging industry.
